I'm trying to render a prefabricated logo scene in Lightwave 3.5 (Flyer 4.06)
on our Amiga 4000.  It's very simple:  The logo approaches from back left to
front right/center, and as it does so, it enters the only light in the scene,
a spotlight shining down on the "floor".  The logo is supposed to come from
the shadows into the light, ie: from darkness to lit.

Problem is, the logo is lit up like a beacon, regardless of whether it's in
the light or not.

The logo is surfaced with Silver, Fractal Reflections.  It has no "self-glow"
(can't remember the right word for this).

The light is a coned spot, 0% ambient light, 100% intensity.

How can I make sure the object isn't visible till it is beneath the
Spotlight?  What am I missing?

This is baffling me, even though it's a very simple scene.  Leave it to the
rookie to get confused fast!
